Oh, I Forgot! I Have a Blog!

What's this?  I have a blog?  Oh yeah, I created one out of boredom about a month ago.  Now that it is Spring Break, I'll actually have time to catch up with this thing.  It's been a busy (or should I say Bizzie) few weeks.  I promise, details, and possibly pictures are coming soon!

Happy Songs

Ladies and gentlemen, I get cranky sometimes.  And when I get cranky, I go straight for my happy songs. These are the songs I have that no matter what mood I'm in, I can manage a smile because they're just so great.  So... in no particular order, my top 5:

Sixteen Going on Seventeen (Sound of Music).  This song is just so sweet. Plus I always think of Leisl squealing with joy at the end.  Try not to smile.
Only the Good Die Young (Billy Joel).  This is one of few songs that I will listen to the whole thing every single time.  Billy Joel has my heart.
The Fox (Nickel Creek).  Reminds me of many drives to Payson with my daddy. So great.
Such Great Heights (The Postal Service OR the cover by Iron & Wine):  It just makes me want to dance.
Waka Waka (Shakira). It's Shakira.  Need I say more?

So there you have it.  These five songs will guarantee a smile from me.  They're not necessarily my 5 favorite songs.  To make that list would require serious deliberation and probably multiple drafts.  They just make me feel good.  Just so you know, I love lists.  I mean LOVE them.  If you continue to read (which I hope you will) prepare for many lists to come.

My Very First Blog Post

Well, I've finally done it.  I don't know if it was my mom's never-ending requests for a blog or the fact that I really don't want to work on my homework.  But here we are, you and me.  You're reading my first blog.  How kind of you.  I'll be quite honest with you, I generally don't have anything too important to share. Hopefully I can make you smile at least once.  If I can do that, I think I'll be happy.


*On a completely different note.  I love that I live in a world where there's a musical about spelling bees.
